Guus Hiddink told players “to look in the mirror”
Former Chelsea striker Drogba sat alongside Hiddink and club owner Roman Abramovich in Saturday’s 3-1 league victory over Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink held a meeting with his players on Tuesday and urged them to take a look in the mirror in a bid to improve their performances on the pitch.
“Yesterday i talked fully to the squad”, added Hiddink.
“We can not ignore what has happened in the recent past, but I asked them and told them to look in the mirror and be hypercritical and give the best for the team”.
“I’ve been working with them a couple of days, two sessions, I can not see that players – the key players – have a lack of ambition or desire”. If you don’t have it, knock on my door and we will talk – briefly. “If we do that, the results will follow. But if they show they are competitive I am not against using them”.
“I shouldn’t be here halfway through the season because it means that things are not going as well as was foreseen at the beginning of the season”, he told reporters. But anyhow I’m glad to be back.
Although the Chelsea fans have fond memories of Hiddink’s previous spell, when he guided the team to the FA Cup in 2009, his star has faded since.
Hiddink believes there is a lot of cause for optimism, but is not promising an instant impact.
And on the prospect of making signings next month he said: “The future has to be determined by whoever is in charge”.
“First we said let’s go to mid-May, and then let’s see”.
“It’s normal that you get a little bit of a setback after the season he had before”, Hiddink told a news conference. “I think it’s always sad when people lose their job”. We now have big players, but it is hard to compare.
But he appeared to suggest it would be harder this time around: “This is a different group of players”.
“Through a strong appeal, not begging them, to perform”. It is hard to compare.
Asked about the possibility of bridging an 11-point gap to the top four he said: “Mathematically it’s possible, but this league is very tough”.
“That’s been proven by the clubs who are usually not at the club, Leicester, Crystal Palace, Watford… fantastic and refreshingly, they are now near the top of the league”.

He added: “Of course some youth players are participating in the sessions. Then we will see”. It depends on the next few games and whether we do it or not. “In general, if they show it they can be option”.
