Guus Hiddink wants Chelsea to show “great desire” to turn season around
With former interim boss Guus Hiddink stepping in for a second spell in the same circumstances, at least Blues supporters have some affections for the Dutchman who of course led the West London club to an FA Cup triumph back in 2009. If you don’t have that desire, please knock on my door and we’ll talk.

The pay cut is reportedly in the vicinity of $33m, with various English media outlets suggesting a loss at the hands of Stoke on Boxing Day will nearly certainly see van Gaal exit and Mourinho enter United.
Chelsea sacked Jose Mourinho last Thursday after a 2-1 defeat at Leicester City left them only a point outside of the Premier League relegation zone with nine defeats from 16 games.
That will be easier said than done given their current position and the sheer number of sides battling at the top of the table, but Chelsea have more than enough quality in their squad to turn things around.
“It’s us who allowed Chelsea to play”.
“We can not ignore what has happened in the past but I told them to be professionals and look forward”. “But I am glad to be back”.
Hiddink was quickly drafted in to replace the Portuguese on a deal until the end of the season, and he has warned the squad he will not tolerate a lack of fight.
“If you look back a bit to last season when there was this year of success, then you go into next season with targets and wins, which are the same: winning the title again”.
“I have to feel inside my heart that I have that passion to work with the guys”.
“He is a legend, both in and (outside) of the club”, he added. The only thing is at the moment is that he’s playing in Montreal.
“I worked at that time with a lot of love for the club and to work with the players is great”.
Hiddink, who coached Drogba in a previous stint with Chelsea, said clubs need former stars around the team, either as coaches, in management or as ambassadors, and that “it is important that they give the club brand a big image”.
“I want to have my own judgment about performances on the pitch and in training”, he said.

“I commented with Mourinho about these allegations. No, no, there was no contact”.
