The British filmmaker returned to London’s High Court on Thursday for the latest hearing in the case, after Madonna accused her ex-husband of effectively kidnapping their eldest son Rocco.

Making her entrance on a tricycle, the singer told the crowd she was dressed as a clown because “to me they symbolise heartbreak” .

‘Madonna has no official access or way of knowing what’s going on in Rocco’s life.

A lawyer for the singer told Mr Justice MacDonald that she wanted to end litigation.

The former couple are also engaged in similar court action in NY.

Lawyers told Mr Justice MacDonald at last week’s hearing that Madonna wanted the teenager to return to live with her in the US.

Rocco refused to return to NY from dad Guy’s London home after Christmas, triggering a custody battle between the star and movie director Guy, 47.

A NY court has now ruled that Rocco should stay in London with his father for the time being so he can attend their chosen London school.

“She really very much hopes that the family can get back together in NY over the Easter vacation and start the process, with all of them involved, in trying to reach a resolution to this problem”.

The judge, Mr Justice MacDonald, began hearing submissions in the dispute earlier this week.

With a baby photo of the teen appearing on the big screen, she said in an emotional voice: “I probably would have enjoyed myself a bit more on this tour if he hadn’t have disappeared so suddenly”.

Specialist legal teams are representing Madonna, Mr Ritchie and Rocco.

Madonna performed a special free show for her fans in Melbourne, Australia, on Thursday.

There are just six dates left on Madonna’s “Rebel Heart World Tour”, which will come to an end in Sydney on March 20 after six months on the road.

Mr Ritchie is now directing Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur, starring Jude Law.

He went with Guy, and new wife Jacqui Ainsley, 34.
