And she now has become immortalized with her own Barbie! Let’s continue to break barriers&dream big, Girls! She told People Magazine, “My older sister and I used to play with Barbies and create these dramatic fantasy stories, so it’s such a huge honor”.

We’re excited to honor US Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas with a one-of-a-kind #Barbie doll made in her likeness! Ballet dancer Misty Copeland, director Ava DuVernay, singer Trisha Yearwood and CEO Eva Chen are also available as Barbie dolls.

When Douglas returned to competition in 2015 after taking an extended vacation from gymnastics post-London, some doubted that she’d be able to repeat her awe-inspiring Olympic performances. The athlete’s latest accomplishment, though, is certainly a first: She just got her own Barbie doll. “Everyone sees me as a role model and it’s just fantastic”.

Douglas won gold medals for the individual all-around and team competitions at the 2012 Olympics.

In the release video, Gabby is shown actually seeing the doll for the first time, and her excitement is clear.
