Pangu has confirmed that they were able to jailbreak iOS 8.4.1 and announced it to the public on their website. It’s a fairly minor update otherwise, coming with some basic bug fixes and some small performance improvements.

The GM seed of iOS 9 has only been out for a couple days, but we already have a proof of concept video demonstrating an untethered iOS 9 jailbreak on an iPhone 5.

That could be the case, as iOS 9 will release on September 16, and once it’s out and available, it’s likely that jailbreak developers will go right at work and get their hands dirty with the new version of iOS. But very surprised at how similar it is to iOS 8 internally. He noted too that the hack is also applicable to iOS 9.1 beta, somehow proving that he had started something that others in the jailbreak community can continue on. Will you jailbreak the operating system once the jailbreak will be released for the wide public? Pangu also discovered the jailbreak to iOS 8 previous year. One reason iH8Sn0w is not releasing the jailbreak from his end is to stop Apple from patching the exploit and killing the tool even before launch, ZDNet said.

Well, that didn’t take long. This is why the TaiG team is asking the jailbreak users to not update iOS 8.4.1, at least not for now. Well, that depends on what you use your jailbreak for.

The video of the jailbreak comes from reputable hacker and developer iH8sn0w, and he performs the long-awaited feat on an iPhone 5 smartphone. This latest version of their over hyped mobile operating system is expected to bring new features including Split Screen multi-window support for iPads, Proactive suggestions based on the way you use your iPhone or iPad, and more.

As Apple doesn’t officially support jailbreaking an iPhone or iPad, the only way to do it is to find out a security susceptibility and abuse that inadequacy in order to have the device run unsigned code.
