The company said Thursday that there is no indication that any other customer information was affected.
Several of the hotel chains are located in New York, including one in Buffalo and Rochester and five in New York City.
The company disclosed in December that its payment processing system was infected with malware but did not mention how long its network was infected.
Hyatt is advising people who stayed at any of the 250 breached locations to keep a close eye on their bank statements and report any unauthorized charges. Customers at a limited number of locations are considered to have been at risk since July 30. Hyatt also says it has now worked with “leading third-party cyber security experts” to resolve the issue and strengthen the security of its systems in order to help prevent this from happening in the future.
Hyatt says it still doesn’t know how many of its customers were affected. Nomura dropped their price objective on Hyatt Hotels from $69.00 to $66.00 and set a “buy” rating for the company in a research note on Monday, October 26th.
