Halo 5: Guardians – Requisition System Explained
There are three types of REQ Cards in Halo 5 – Cosmetic, Permanent, and Single Use. As a reminder, while players will earn REQ Packs across both Arena and Warzone, only cosmetic items can be used in Arena Multiplayer.

Check out the lengthy video below, as well as the guide on the official blog, to see some of the cards and the whole REQ system in action. 343 Industries is promising that Requisition Packs will be completely earnable through playing multiplayer, but the system still isn’t going to sit well with all Halo fans.
As you can see in the video below, narrated by hilarious character Mister Chief who’s voiced by Nick Offerman, the REQ system consists of virtual cards with items and other things imprinted on them. Each pack contains a wide array of items. Every time you do something online – be it kill someone in a specific way, or do something exceptionally cool – you’ll be rewarded with REQ points.
REQ Store: Players can easily access the REQ Store from the Spartan Hub, which will allow them to acquire REQ Packs. From there, the cards are broken down further to where you can use them.

Over 1,000 unique REQ Cards will be available for players to collect at launch, and more will be introduced over time. They might unlock more lucrative equipment and weaponry. These upgrades can range from simple cosmetic changes and new animations to unlocking better guns and even using vehicles. Should you happen to purchase something that isn’t to your liking, you can trade it back at a REQ station for more REQ points. The rewards will keep players engaged, encourage more friends to join, and get more players to join the game, helping with the overall success of the all-important exclusive title for the Xbox One video game console.
