Halo 5’s Editor Has Finally Been Released on PC

This special PC version of Halo 5 is primarily designed to give you access to the game’s robust Forge level editor, which lets you create anything from tight deathmatch arenas to Halo-style racing and sports games – now with the convenience of a keyboard and mouse.

Custom games have always been a key part of Halo multiplayer.

Fans who have been waiting for “Halo 5: Forge” to arrive on PC need not wait anymore, as the game has arrived ahead of its scheduled September 8 release. Recently, a playlist of some of the community’s best custom game types made its way into Halo 5 matchmaking, allowing an even wider audience to get in on the fun. Either using “Halo 5 Forge” or on Xbox One using “Halo 5: Guardians” can share their maps across the two platforms, making it easier for fans to explore each other’s maps. The only thing unusual here is that this art has apparently been done using Halo 2 Anniversary assets by Blur, the same studio that handled new cut-scenes for H2A on Xbox One. Download new levels from the Forge community created on either Windows 10 or Xbox One.

“To be clear, it’s a new feature that will provide similar functionality to a custom game browser, extending the existing file browser”, Holmes wrote.

Exactly how the feature will work is still a mystery. And now, many fans are curious about Anvil’s Legacy and the Forge file content browser that will be made available in a couple of days.
