James and Lin-Manuel launched into “Alexander Hamilton” from the latter’s own musical, which has hauled a record of 16 Tony nominations – the most in Broadway history.

Corden asks Miranda how he’s feeling about the Tonys.
“It’s amusing, I had a show up for the Tonys”.
“We were all unknown, the show was an unknown quantity and we knew we needed to win stuff in order to run so I was really nervous”.
“He added: “‘Hamilton” is selling fine” – an understatement as it rakes in $1.8 million a week – “so I don’t feel that kind of pressure. “We all work within the same eight blocks”.
James also chatted with Jesse and Jane, discussing how they both act on stage and on TV shows.
“Late Late Show” host James Corden says he has no interest in taking over for his lead-in on CBS, Stephen Colbert.
Luckily, his enthusiasm proved to be contagious and Carey eventually sang along to a few of her hits as they tooled around the streets of L.A. The opening strains of “Seasons of Love” from “Rent” make everyone in the auto go, “Awww” and then they sing together, throwing in harmonies and all sorts of goodness, and it feels like all will be right with the world.
Audra McDonald, the six-time Tony award victor, offered Corden advice on hosting the Tony’s.
As the two venture towards the Theater, Corden and Miranda belt out tunes from the hit Broadway musical, “Hamilton”. James Corden showed off his rap skills by mouthing off Daveed Digg’s rap on “Guns and Ships”, the fastest rap to ever be performed on Broadway.
The trip around New York City concludes with a triumphant, exhilarating rendition of Les Miserables’ “One More Day”.
What do you think of this Broadway edition of Carpool Karaoke? . Corden found the experience “joyful” and realized it could easily be transferred to the celebrity-filled carpool lanes of Los Angeles when he took over The Late Late Show. But he somehow managed to convince pop diva Mariah Carey to be his first guest.

Speaking on CBS This Morning Monday, Corden, famous for his “carpool karaoke” gigs on his show, told CBS hosts “I’m terrified of the whole thing”. “People want to have a great time”, McDonald tells him.
