Hamlin to help after flooding
This team was happy to get back on the practice field today, and they were out in the community yesterday helping to fix the damage done by the floods, and QB Drew Brees and head coach Sean Payton said it was a rewarding experience.

Either way Brees does not have a long future with the Saints and I think they should try to trade him. That might no longer be the case this season – at least not on a daily basis.
“I think it’s a good opportunity for us to go see competition, get a chance to measure ourselves and see where we’re at”, Payton said.
Offensive tackle Zach Strief said Brees’ no deal wouldn’t be an issue for the 2016 Saints. “The teams I know all finish considerably earlier than we do”.
The team also plans to have fewer afternoon walk-through practices to ensure players have enough time to ensure their bodies are as healthy as possible while also learning all aspects of the playbook. While he admits he’s not privy to all the details of the new schedule, he says however it works out, having an extra hour to an hour and a half will do wonders for the players’ recovery. “These first two practices are without pads”.
“The schedule is backed up”, Payton said. “The practices might be a little bit more demanding”. “It takes a lot, I didn’t really know how much time and effort it took make a home so it really makes you appreciate things”.
New Orleans clearly has experience with devastating flooding, taking years to recover and rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
Still, running back Mark Ingram is confident his team is looking forward to the season and the challenges that lie ahead.

“He told us it was going to be a tough camp”, center Max Unger said.
