Han Solo Is Getting His Own Movie!
The new movie is to be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, the men behind the hugely successful Lego movie.

The film, which is set for 2018, “focuses on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley”.
The next trailer for the film will likely be released in the fall. This is a dream come true for us. Needless to say, Harrison Ford won’t reprise his role in the film, which is said to be set before the smuggler-turned-hero hooked up with the rebel alliance.
Well, Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul was once linked to playing a young Han Solo in a Star Wars spin-off, but there is no indication that he is involved with this particular film.
The directing tandem will be working with Lawrence Kasdan, a veteran writer who co-wrote the screenplays for “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi“.
On Miller and Lord’s team are Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan, who are writing the script for the project.
You can now keep all the “Star Wars” paraphernalia in your pocket thanks to a new Disney and Lucasfilm’s new mobile app. The app, released recently, is essentially a 24-7 hub for all things “Star Wars“, CNET.com reported.
Having Miller and Lord direct a Han Solo movie is a stroke of genius.
Solo was immortalized by original trilogy actor Harrison Ford, and is one of the most popular characters in movies. Walt Disney Co. made the “Star Wars” spin-off announcement a few days before the San Diego Comic Con.

For now, all of the attention being generated by the Star Wars franchise is pointed squarely at your local multiplex, which promises to be pretty crowded in five months when Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuts. The SDCC panel for the upcoming film is scheduled on Friday and the most awaited saga will be premiered on December 18, 2015.
