Apple’s critics were pretty vocal with their disappointment in the company for removing the 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone 7-a decision Apple made in part to free up more space for other internal components. While that partly solves the dilemma, some folks will hit a roadblock – they can not listen to wired headphones while charging their iPhone devices.
The Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar adapter will be available October 10 for an MSRP of $39.95USD at Belkin.com and Apple retail stores.
Other key features include a high-resolution camera and no headphone jack.
When Apple unveiled the iPhone 7, people took issue with its lack of a headphone jack. Yes, that means that if you use standard headphones with a 3.5mm connector and want to charge while listening to music, you’re going to need two dongles: one 3.5mm to Lightning adapter, and one dual-Lightning to Lightning adapter.
As to audio the Rockstar will support up to 48kHz 24-bit lossless audio output and supports the full ecosystem of Lightning Audio headphones. Apple will let you have one of those, but only as a $50 phone dock. All you have to do is attach it to your iPhone and plug in a charging cable and a pair of EarPods; then you’ll be good to go.
The pieces are starting to come together following Apple’s announcement yesterday that it won’t be releasing opening weekend sales for its new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus flagships.
One adapter plugged into the phone, another adapter plugged into the original adapter and the headphones plugged into the second adapter that’s plugged into the adapter plugged into the iPhone 7.

Alternatively, wireless Airpod headphones will be available with the iPhone 7. Often users tend to buy older models post the launch of a new variant since they expect a price cut. This was on the global site but the changes were also reflected on the India site, leading to speculations that Apple has discontinued these phones.
