Democrats are criticizing a TV ad sponsored by a political action committee that opposes Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential bid.

Abedin, the wife of former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, has also been under scrutiny from a Senate committee for her employment status at the State Department – when she simultaneously worked for State, the Clinton Foundation a consulting firm and Clinton as a special government employee. Still, as the presidential campaign season presses forward, Clinton faces many vocal critics, particularly among Republicans, who focus on two major issues: the use of a private email server while Secretary of State as well as her role in the 2012 attacks on the us embassy in Benghazi. In advance of that hearing, the Clinton campaign and fellow Democrats have gone on the offensive, charging that the committee has a political agenda.
Merrill said the committee’s decision to call in Abedin “is additional evidence that the actual attack in Benghazi, and its lessons about how we might better protect diplomats serving in risky places, are the last things on the committee’s mind”.
“House Republicans aren’t even shy anymore about admitting that the Benghazi Committee is a partisan farce”, said Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon.
“I voted for the resolution to establish a Select Committee to investigate and report on the attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi, Libya”, Hanna said.
“Kevin McCarthy basically blew himself up with that comment over the Benghazi committee, which, sometimes the biggest sin you can commit in DC is to tell the truth”, Hanna says. I am not making these comments to uphold Hillary Clinton, but the Republicans in Washington have been after her big time ever since the four Americans were killed. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) under increasing outside fire from Democrats, who claim his inquiry has jumped several sets of rails, and under internal fire from a whistleblower who alleges the committee’s investigative work is overwhelmingly partisan, the committee stands poised to lose its remaining credibility. He is not a member of the Benghazi select committee.
Senator Sanders made a claim that a few members of the committee disagree with. The committee previously questioned Clinton advisers Cheryl Mills, Jake Sullivan and Sidney Blumenthal at length.
The interview was expected to last for hours. In addition, Chairman Gowdy was invited to discuss this on CNN and declined.
And, of course, conservatives in Congress pushing this and writers and talkers that keep pushing Benghazi will likely try to discredit this guy.
“[Abedin] had no policy responsibilities and no operational responsibilities and was not with Sec”. “Until his Friday conversations with media, this staffer has never mentioned Secretary Clinton as a cause of his termination, and he did not cite Clinton’s name in a legally mandated mediation”, the South Carolina Republican said in a written statement.

McCarthy ended up walking back his comments, saying he did not mean to imply that the sole goal of the Benghazi hearings was to politically attack Clinton.
