‘Hard Knocks’ shows Rams cutting Long for having woman in dorm
On July 31, the Los Angeles Rams chose to cut ties with wide receiver Deon Long.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Deon Long was cut by the Los Angeles Rams earlier this summer and we now know why.
The most raw and heart-breaking moment of the premiere episode took place in LA Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher’s office.
“Sorry, but this is our world, man”, Fisher added later. Long didn’t abide by the second rule, so he had to go. Even if this was a minor issue, Fisher made it clear his rules weren’t made to be broken and wasted no time cutting Long on the spot. We learned that an “Old School Training Camp”, is not that much fun as the Los Angeles Rams players have to sleep in tiny dorm rooms with no air conditioning and rock hard mattresses. Long violated one of Fisher’s rules by inviting a female over to his dorm, something El Jefe clearly thought was out of line. He’d later refer to Long’s mistake as “7-9 bulls-t” when addressing his team, indicating to players that not following the rules helped contribute to the 7-9 record the team posted in 2015. He was undrafted a year ago.
Asked whether the media can read into those remarks an indication that a quarterback change is imminent, Fisher said, “Read whatever you want”.
A 30-person NFL Films crew is at the Rams’ training camp at team headquarters in Southern California, shooting more than 1,500 hours of footage over the course of the series. “I wish you the best, good luck to you”. Packed with drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Hard Knocks gives fans a rare chance to see the inner workings of the National Football League.
“We’re going to cut you”, Fisher said, adding that he’d handled a similar situation in the same way before.
Coach Jeff Fisher, who turned down the Dolphins to coach the Rams in 2012, will also find plenty of camera time.
