Hard to find another Tiago: Atletico coach Simeone
Juan Mata has wished Atletico Madrid’s Tiago a speedy recovery after he picked up a broken leg for the Spanish outfit at the weekend, as per the Manchester United midfielder’s official blog.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has revealed that he would be “open” to the idea of signing a replacement for the injured Tiago. “At 34 years old there is experience that no-one has at 26 or 27”, he said.
Simeone has talked-up the players that he now has at the capital club, but has admitted that he could be active in the January transfer window.
‘Clearly it’s hard to find another Tiago. “He was on great form and we hope he returns before the end of the season because we need him”.
‘We will work with the guys we have in that position: Koke, Saul (Matias), Kranevitter, Gabi, he said.
“We’ll work as we’ve always done [in the order of] friendlies, Copa, La Liga and the Champions League, with the same enthusiasm when wearing the club jersey”.
The loss of one of Atletico’s key players means the club could now look to strengthen their midfield area when the transfer window opens next month, and the Colchoneros coach told a news conference that he was open to a new player coming in.
And Mata has sent a warm message of support to Tiago in his latest blog post, hailing the former Chelsea midfielder as a “player with a lot of class”.

“It is not just one game, there’s two, but [Reus] will be motivated, happy to play, and that will make their play stronger”, the Argentine coach said.
