Haren dealt by Marlins to Cubs for 2 minor leaguers
The Cubs have acquired Dan Haren from the Marlins, according to a story first reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.

Haren now joins his fifth group since 2012, having adopted his three-season Angels tenure with stints as a National and Dodger earlier than becoming a member of the Marlins. His flyball rate – nearly 50 percent this year – should be an issue this summer when it’s hot and the wind’s blowing out at Wrigley Field.
Haren, 34, is 7-7 with a 3.42 ERA in 21 starts this season.
Multiple media outlets are reporting the Friday trade between the Marlins and Cubs. It was a 1-0 loss to the Washington Nationals, as Haren’s biggest mistake in the game resulted in a Ryan Zimmerman home run.
The names Dan Haren and Tommy Hunter won’t captivate Cubs fans like Cole Hamels or David Price, the available pitchers whose possibility teased them for weeks. He owns a.275/.388/.314 slash line in Double-A Tennessee. Soto will be 26 in August and is more than likely an organization filler than a real impact player.
Pineyro, a 23-year-old righthander, has a 3.69 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 19 starts.
That didn’t mean the Cubs laid low on the trade market, as they made a deal with the Miami Marlins to sneak in a starter pitcher before the deadline expired.
“He’s a pro”, Marlins manager Dan Jennings said. Both teams should be happy with this deal, as the Cubs added a veteran arm for cheap and the Marlins got a solid return for a guy that was gone after the season. If he’s able to continue pitching the way he has so far in 2015, he will be a welcomed addition to the Cubs and an improvement in the rotation.
