Even before Suicide Squad was on the horizon, Harley Quinn has been garnering a huge fan base of girls and women who cosplay as the often misunderstood villain and sometimes heroine.

With the rise of the villains in Gotham, and a busload of escapees from Indian Hill now running rampant around town, “The spirit of the Suicide Squad – teaming up super villains, putting them together, and having them be a more powerful force – is something that we’re definitely doing in season 3 of Gotham”, executive producer Ken Woodruff added.
“If you see someone who has a scientific anomaly to their skin that it grows in a certain way, ‘Oh, I’m going to take that and grow Killer Croc from that in the future, ‘” Stephens teased, according to Asia Starz. Viewers who have seen “Suicide Squad” left them puzzled as to what happens next since the ending game the audiences a cliffhanger of an ending with Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) escaping Belle reve prison with the help of The Joker (Jared Leto).
Gotham executive producer John Stephens revealed Monday at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour that he wants to introduce the origin story for the DC Comics fan-favorite character now played on the big screen by Margot Robbie. In a report by Hollywood Reporter, executive produer for FOX’s “Gotham”, John Stephens seems to be interested in introducing the origin story of Harley Quinn.
While Stephens was a bit more cautious in what he had to say about the character – stressing that she would not appear until later in the season – his colleague Woodruff suggested Harley may have already appeared on the show.
As for the character of proto-Killer Croc, portrayed by Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje on the film, Stephens said that the small screen version will not necessarily mirror the same path of his arc in the movie. “And we’ll be seeing a character-perhaps not this season, but in times to come-who can be a forerunner for Harley Quinn, which I think will be really exciting as well”.
Gotham returns to Fox for its third season September 19. He said the introduction of Harley will be connected to Joker but refused to divulge any further.

While Arrow seemingly won’t be able to make use of the character, it looks like Gotham might be luckier in their pursuit of using younger versions of Harley Quinn and Killer Croc. “The villains have become more and more a part of the fabric of the city of Gotham”.
