Harper hits hard with anti-terror strategy

The Liberal leader also focused on Harper’s economic policies on Monday, saying the travel ban was simply a Conservative attempt to distract from their failure to create jobs and a better life for middle income earners.

“If your policy is humanitarian assistance without military support, all you’re doing is dropping aid on dead people”, he said during a campaign stop in Markham, Ont., describing the position of “diaspora groups” in Canada.

Harper disregarded the criticisms of NDP Chief Tom Mulcair and Liberal Chief Justin Trudeau, who reject army motion and have urged that Canada persist with offering humanitarian assist.

Forgoing casual campaign garb for the more prime ministerial suit and tie, Harper made his announcement at a news conference in Ottawa, flanked by Canadian flags. “Our opponents just do not get that”. While no names were mentioned Sunday, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported that a media handout from the Conservatives said some parts of Syria and Iraq would “likely” fall under the travel ban.

“Frankly, these are not areas where families go”.

Harper said today that all parties have a right to decide which debates they’re going to participate in, and that “when the dust settles we’ll have more debates than we’ve ever had before”. When asked Sunday about the trial Harper said yet again that Wright acted without his knowledge when he gave Duffy a $90,000 cheque to repay his disallowed housing and travel expenses.

In his remarks, Harper clarified that exceptions will be made in the new law for aid workers, diplomats and journalists. Canada is now a key member of the U.S.-led coalition conducting air strikes on Islamic State targets in Syria and Iraq since past year.

Justin Trudeau says the Conservatives’ plan to restrict Canadians from travelling to regions of the world controlled by terrorist groups is “nothing more than electoral posturing”.

The Conservatives and Liberals both accused the N-D-P of not being upfront with voters.

“Canada is a country that respects people’s rights”, he said at a campaign stop in Montreal.

“It’s not a serious plan”. 19 election, reveals the NDP, underneath Thomas Mulcair’s management, has turned its flagging fortunes round. Australia has such a law.

“I don’t know of too many flights between Toronto and these war zones”, he said.

She said the proposed ban is also troubling, as it requires the accused individual to prove that they did nothing wrong.

“There’s a lot of people, refugees, displaced peoples, fleeing violence who are facing a very, very cold winter in the mountains”, Trudeau said.
