Ford appeared in Sydney in Thursday as part of a global tour in the lead up to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

On Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, the star of Star Wars: The Force Awakens told the host he is usually begging people to go see his films.

Abrams saw “Star Wars” when he was 11 and never outgrew his passion for the film. Spielberg, who worked with Kennedy on E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park and other films, told her, “Kathy, there’s only one director that really should undertake this daunting, epic task, and that’s J.J”.

“To me, the knee-jerk reaction if I had to [name someone] is Ava DuVernay, who I think would just kill it”, Abrams said.

“We went through, I don’t know how many hundreds and probably thousands of iterations and different versions”, he said of Kylo Ren’s look.

“I haven’t had anything weird happen”.

“It’s a movie. Donald, it was a movie”, Ford says directly to the camera. A stormtrooper named Finn (John Boyega) encounters Rey and droid BB-8, and the three embark on a journey. There was something about the journey of Luke Skywalker to really understand and learn the Force, combined with his confrontation with Darth Vader and the cliffhanger at the end, that really drew me in.
