Harry Kane scored twice, his seventh and eighth goals in five games, and defenders Toby Alderweireld and Kyle Walker were also on target at White Hart Lane on Sunday as Pochettino’s enterprising young team equalled the club record of 12 consecutive Premier League games without defeat. “For the fans it would be nice if we finish above them but if you ask me if I am happy to finish ninth and they are 10th, Arsenal are 11th, and Chelsea 12th, I would rather finish second and one of them finish as champions”. “We have a very good squad, I’m very happy in the way we work every day”. West Ham come into this just five points off the top of the Premier League and will leapforg Spurs should they triumph in this one, so there is plenty of incentive for them as they aim to take their strong start into the winter months.
It was a huge blow for West Ham and Slaven Bilic must have been wondering what was happening as his team started to fall apart.
Pochettino said of the win: “Today was a complete performance from the team”.
West Ham threatened to reply immediately when Cheikhou Kouyate volleyed acrobatically against the crossbar after Noble’s blocked shot ballooned into the air.
That versatility stands him in very good stead as he bids to become one of the most important players for both Tottenham and ultimately England.
Tottenham now sit fifth in the EPL standings on with 21 points, the same amount of points as West Ham, which occupy sixth in the league place at the moment.

West Ham did briefly rally. He’s scored six goals in his last four domestic matches in all competitions, including the opening goal in the draw against north London rivals Arsenal before the worldwide break. Jose Mourinho’s side – for how much longer it remains to be seen – couldn’t ask for many better fixtures than a home clash with Norwich as they bid to finally get the wheels turning, but it’s clearly too great a risk to go anywhere near them at 1/2.
