‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ Script Breaks Book Sale Records

But the one available in bookstores is a script, which doesn’t seem quite appropriate for a book claimed to be the last story of Harry Potter.

When do Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tickets go on sale?

Last week, Barnes & Noble said the script book was the US retail book sellers’ most pre-ordered book since “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.

We’re still a few months aways from journeying back to the wizarding world with Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, but that hasn’t stopped Warner Bros from setting a release date for the sequel.

At 12:01 a.m. ET on July 31, Scholastic released the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two script book (ISBN 978-1-338-09913-3; All Ages), in print in the USA and Canada. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme parks at Universal Studios in Orlando, Hollywood and Osaka, Japan, continue to entertain record crowds and Warner Bros. Entertainment Weekly reported that Scholastic Trade was thrilled to see the fans’ reaction to the release of the book.

“Fantastic Beasts” the movie is from a 2001 book by Rowling entitled “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”.

That is an enchanting amount but still pales in comparison to the 8.3 million copies Deathly Hallows sold in just 24 hours in America. But because of Harry Potter’s global fan base, “we really hope to take this play to as many places as it’s feasible to take it”, Rowling said.

Redmayne plays Newt Scamander, a “magizoologist” who arrives in NY in 1926 with a case of magical creatures that escape, wreak havoc and face threats from the non-magical humans in the city.

Kate Skipper, buying director at Waterstones, said she was certain the script would be the chain’s “biggest book of the year”.

“I read all of the Harry Potter books a long time ago (and) I had to wait for the next book to be released”, said Alexa’s mother Marcella Castor.

Scholastic, the US and Canadian publisher of “Cursed Child“, said the sales figures were unprecedented for a script book.
