Harry Potter’s family tree revealed

The site also promises news updates, insider information, sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes reports and glimpses of the new projects from a “Pottermore Correspondent”. In the books, the friendship between Harry, Hermione, and Ron are important to the story, and people can relate.

You might remember Skele-gro from the second book, where Madame Pomfrey treats Harry with it to re-grow his arm bones after a quidditch match. For me, I’ve always been enthralled by the world that J.K. Rowling created – it’s so rich and detailed and somehow realistic despite being a fantasy world.

Chapter-by-chapter browsing isn’t the only major change – the popular Sorting Hat and wand quizzes have been temporarily removed. Commenting, fan art, dueling, and potion making were removed earlier this year.

J.K. Rowling has released a new essay on the Pottermore website, providing a glimpse into the lineage of Harry Potter’s family.

Streaming service Netflix has acquired a live-action biopic of Harry Potter writer J.K. Rowling for its Latin American feeds.

The Potter family was traced all the way back to the 12th century and started with a wizard named Linfred of Stinchcombe, who had seven children and was described as “a locally well-beloved and eccentric man”. The wizard used his magic to offer up cures for pox and ague.

“Linfred’s eldest son, Hardwin, married a attractive young witch by the name of Iolanthe Peverell, who came from the village of Godric’s Hollow”, reads the passage.

As you can see by the comments on the Instagram video above, plenty of Pottermore users felt betrayed and angry when the redesign wiped out their long-standing profiles.

J.K. Rowling penned the new Pottermore logo herself. Between the family’s small pharma money and a new invention – a magically effective hair styling gel – by a certain Fleamont Potter, by the time James Potter was born, the family was quite wealthy.

The new design comes at a cost, however, as some fan favorite features from the old Pottermore site had to go, at least temporarily.
