Hart confident of resolving City situation

The Everton manager has ruled out a bid for Manchester City’s out-of-favour goalkeeper Joe Hart.

City did the damage with a 5-0 win in Romania last week, allowing Guardiola to rest most of his first-choice players including Sergio Aguero – the scorer of a first-leg hat trick.

The England worldwide captained City during their 1-0 (6-0 on aggregate) victory over Steaua Bucharest in their Champions League play-off game but his future looks even less certain following the arrival of Claudio Bravo.

Asked about his future Hart, 29, said: “It’s not for me to say”.

There have been reports that Hart’s reported £110,000-per-week wages are putting off interested clubs.

Potential solutions do not appear to include a switch to Everton, after Ronald Koeman ruled out a move for Hart, while Guardiola is delighted to secure his ninth signing since succeeding Manuel Pellegrini as City boss.

Pep Guardiola made it clear that Hart wasn’t in his plans, and he signed Claudio Bravo from Barcelona as City’s starting keeper to have a goalie that is good with the ball on his feet, a key component of his footballing philosophy. “We’re men, we get on with it”.

Claudio Bravo’s debut for Manchester City is set to come in the most high-profile match of the English Premier League season: The Manchester derby. “I have followed City’s progress in recent years and obviously know some of my new teammates from the Copa America”, he told the club’s official website. I enjoyed tonight. I’m really happy that Fabian scored.

It was expected Hart would leave the club before the transfer window closes on 31 August, but an immediate transfer is no longer certain. “They all need to play, the situation is not easy but we’ll find the best solution”.

Joe right now is a player for Man City and if he has to play he will play.

“With his experience, anticipation of situations in front of the box, good in the build-up plays, quick under the posts, he (Bravo) is a good player for us”, Guardiola said on Friday. Joe did a lot with this club in the years he’s been, more than I have done – I’ve only been here for one month, he’s been here many years.

Guardiola was unsure if Bravo will receive a good reception from fans when he first plays.
