Harvard man Ryan Fitzpatrick says the key was to “think less”
The next it’s their defence.

What in the world happened to the strength of Rex Ryan’s defense?
But it wasn’t just Fitz who embarrassed Ryan on Thursday night; Jets running back Matt Forte scored three touchdowns, including a game-sealing 12-yarder in the fourth quarter in which Forte walked into the end zone. “The Jets were a much better team than we were, especially their offense against our defense. It looked like a mismatch … that was the difference in the game”.
For more from Ryan following the loss, see the attached YouTube video above.
Amazingly however, Marshall would return on the ensuing drive and finish with nine catches for 101 yards on the evening.
The Jets responded to score 17 consecutive points, capped by Matt Forte’s third touchdown on a 12-yard run.
Sports’ Tom Pelissero says Rex Ryan is on the hot seat after his Buffalo Bills lost to the New York Jets and fell to 0-2.
Forte racked up 109 total yards on 32 touches and scored three touchdowns against the Bills.
He went 18 of 30 for 298 yards and three touchdowns.
And this on a night when the Bills retired the number of the greatest player in franchise history – Bruce Smith. But the reality is as soon as the New England Patriots squeaked past the Arizona Cardinals last week, that’s what this became if the Jets wanted to maintain any real hope of hanging with the Pats in the AFC East.
“That’s a good feeling as a quarterback”, Fitzpatrick said, “having guys look at you with confidence in their eyes”. Eric Decker (126 receiving yards) and Brandon Marshall (101) torched them, and the Jets dynamic duo nearly was joined in the century club by Quincy Enunwa, who had 92 yards before leaving the game for good with an injury in the second half. We all know if you make Fitzpatrick uncomfortable he will make bad throws and toss interceptions.
Marshall caught 109 passes for 1,502 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.
WHAT WENT RIGHT: The Bills wiped away a miserable first half with two huge plays in a span of the first 3:45 of the quarter.
Buffalo took unnecessary timeouts that would come to haunt them late in the contest, consistently ran directly into the strength of the Jets’ defense, despite having success in the deep passing game, and defensively posed no threat to the Jets’ offense, which almost had three 100-yard receivers, had a 100-yard rusher, and averaged 11 yards per pass attempt Thursday night.
Marshall had two catches for 52 yards before the injury. “I was afraid to pressure because we weren’t holding up in man-coverage”.
“He was on the money”, NY receiver Brandon Marshall said.
Forte’s 3-yard run put NY ahead 27-24 with 2:12 left in the third quarter.
The second quarter continued to go the Jets way. I even thought about it during the offseason: ‘I can’t wait to play the Bills again.’ Coming into the National Football League, I didn’t think there were any true rivalries like that.
After making a 15-yard reception, Marshall was brought down by Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore, who grabbed Marshall’s facemask and spun him to the turf, twisting Marshall’s left knee in the process. After Tyrod Taylor connected on his second long TD pass of the game with a 71-yard strike to Greg Salas, the Bills took a 24-20 lead when Nickell Robey-Coleman returned a Jalin Marshall fumble 36 yards for a touchdown. JP Losman was the last to do that in 2006.

“I mean I think it means a little bit more than a regular game”, he said.
