Harvard Republican Club won’t endorse Trump for president
As Donald Trump is still seeking support from Republicans nationwide, one group of Republicans refuses to support him.

The national poll shows that in this demographic, Donald Trump is less popular than Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, as well as the two third-party candidates, Jill Stein and Gary Johnston.
For the first time in 128 years, the Harvard Republican Club won’t be endorsing the GOP nominee for president. Club spokesman Matt Friedman says Trump’s midday speech at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center will be open to the news media but not the general public. “We will not stand for this vitriolic rhetoric that is poisoning our country and our children”.
While many prominent Republicans have either only given half-hearted endorsements of Trump, or no support at all, few Republican groups have given as strong of a condemnation of Trump.
Harvard Republicans also called on prominent Republicans and other college GOP groups to renounce Trump’s candidacy.
Alluding to Trump’s remarks targeting the parents of Pakistani-origin US Army Captain Humayun Khan, who died while serving in Iraq in 2004, the Club slammed the billionaire tycoon for insulting the sacrifices made by veterans.
“Donald Trump holds views that are antithetical to our values not only as Republicans, but as Americans”, the Harvard Republican Club said in a statement on Facebook. “Domestically, his protectionist trade policies and draconian immigration restrictions would enlarge our federal deficit, raise prices for consumers, and throw our economy back into recession”, the young Republicans feared. “When confronted about these frequent reversals, Trump lies in a manner more brazen and shameless than anything politics has ever seen”.
