Harvey’s T-Mobile ad pokes fun at pageant blunder
In T-Mobile’s Super Bowl commercial with Steve Harvey, Steve pokes fun at his infamous Miss Universe mistake.

Tom Donoghue/Polaris Host Steve Harvey mistakenly named Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez (pictured), the Miss Universe during the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant.
It was also a stretch to bring in Harvey for this, but T-Mobile probably doesn’t think that matters much. The performer’s “Hotline Bling” parody will surely be the victor of the night in a showdown between these two ads.
T-Mobile used the hashtag #ballogize at the end of the spot. The spot ranks among the best commercials of the first half.
He added: “It was a tough thing that happened, but after a while you need to start smiling about this”.
Harvey interrupts the announcer who is praising Verizon for their service and apologizes.
He is also seen apologizing to T-Mobile customers for making a mistake, and then blames rival cell carrier Verizon for the error.

I mean, while the Miss Universe blunder was pretty bad, you really have to give Harvey credit for riding this wave. I’m not taking responsibility on this one! “Verizon got it wrong! Yes!”
