Haryana announces cash award for Sindhu, Dipa, Lalita
He also offered promotion for Ms Sakshi’s father, Mr Sukhbir Malik, who works as a bus conductor in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). The Haryana government has promised her Rs 2.5 crore, the Indian Railways will gift her Rs 60 lakh and the IOA will reward her Rs 20 lakh.

Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday announced Rs 1 crore as an award to Olympic medal victor wrestler Sakshi Malik.
Meanwhile, Haryana Government has already announced to provide the sum of 2.50 crore Rs.to Sakshi Malik for her contribution to making not only Haryana but the whole country proud.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia visited Sakshi’s parents in Rohtak, Haryana, early Saturday and announced the award for both Olympians. Under the policy, victor of gold medal from Haryana in Olympics gets Rs 6 crore; silver Rs 4 crore; and bronze Rs 2.5 crore.
While wrestler Sakshi came from behind and toppled her opponent in the final seconds to clinch a Bronze, shuttler Sindhu stormed her way into the final of singles badminton before valiantly going down to the World No. 1.

Much was expected of Babita, victor of two medals in past Commonwealth Games and bronze medalist in the World Championship in 2012, when she got on the mat a day after teammate Sakshi’s epoch-making first medal in women’s wrestling.
