Clarifying that she didn’t “fire” Metzger, Schumer may have let it slip that there will be no fifth season for her Emmy-winning sketch comedy series. Instead, she said that during the show’s tenure, it has been “very positive” to have an opposing viewpoint within the writers’ room.

And since Metzger has written for the critically acclaimed “Inside Amy Schumer” in the past, some have tried to connect her to his comments. Schumer suggested she became a comedian after her voice cracked during the chanting of the Torah portion and the congregation erupted in laughter.

“Inside Amy Schumer” was deemed to be canceled after she tweeted about the statements of Kurt Metzeger about rape but she recently clarified that her touring schedule has made it hard to produce the season 5 of the show.

“I want them to not attach me to what he’s writing”, she told Charlie Rose Thursday during a taping of his show airing Friday night. She called for fans to “stop asking” if Metzger worked for her, adding that “his words are not mine”. In another tweet, she added: “Kurt does not work for me”. She said that she did not support or endorse his recent statements, she did not know why he was saying what he was saying.
