It will take place on March 15 – the same day as Apple’s impending announcements for reportedly, a new iPhone among other things. While in no way a surprise, it seems that Sony is having their own run on the virtual reality highway, and what has been announced so far regarding it seems pretty promising. He also goes on to speak of the introduction of VR products, for example, the PlayStation VR, which he says will be released at some point in the fall of 2016.
Initially codenamed Project Morpheus, the headset was followed by the unveiling of an updated model in GDC 2015.
With the Oculus Rift shipping on March 28 to eager customers and the HTC Vive’s pre-orders beginning from February 29 and shipping from April 1, PlayStation VR will be last out of the gate.
It appears that we will be getting more information about PlayStation VR sooner than expected. “We have nothing more to comment on at this time”. But there’s no doubt that the number one question is how much of a hit PlayStation VR will be on the consumer’s wallet.
