‘Hateful Eight’ Theatre Version Soon? Tarantino Will Still Be Director?

To mark the launch of Quentin Tarantino’s new film The Hateful Eight and its new score from Ennio Morricone, both artists met for a special event at Abbey Road Studios.

He was also asked whether he had any regrets about his career so far, responding “The only thing I actually really regret about my behavior when I’m making movies, especially when it’s a long shoot, when it’s gone on for a long time, you just get sick of it. You’ve had it. And that day I feel sorry for myself, and I’m a grumpy a-hole. It will be a little closer to eight years”, he told The Sun.

“He didn’t give me any clue, any indication, any specific requirement, he just gave me complete freedom”, Morricone said in remarks translated from Italian, adding that he had composed it all without seeing a single filmed sequence. The Pulp Fiction star plays a Wild West bounty hunter in The Hateful Eight, a role he’s treating as a gift – literally!

“Despite being a two-time Oscar-winner for best screenplay, he says his movies rarely make a “sweep” or become nominated for a hefty amount of awards at once, lowering the chances he will win the top directing honor”.

“He thought I hadn’t started shooting yet, so he was talking to me and I was like “no I’m done shooting and I need the score in a month”, Quentin said.

He also acknowledged the theatrical elements to his debut Reservoir Dogs, and that it “could be put onstage and has been put onstage many times”. “I get punched a lot by him and I never was afraid”, she reveals.
