Hatzolah Worker Slashed in Brooklyn

Downs/for New York Daily News Police search the area where a 34-year-old Hatzolah EMS worker was stabbed on Eastern Pkwy. near Rogers Ave.in Crown Heights late Tuesday.

At 5:45 a.m., the man was walking in the 500 block of Lefferts Avenue when he was attacked. The person from the second emergency, was transported by Hatzolah to Methodist Hospital for an unknown type emergency.

The suspect, who is described as a 6-foot-tall black male was wearing a mask, fled from the scene on Eastern Parkway, Investigators are in the process of studying a few surveillance video.

The victim is a member of Hatzolah EMS, which serves neighborhoods throughout the city and staffed by Orthodox Jewish EMS workers. The victim wasn’t responding to a call when he was stabbed. It was not immediately clear if the attack would be investigated as a hate crime.
