No sanctions for the pair have been announced, and Singh has been asked if he would like to have a second sample tested.

Yadav, who is likely to be replaced by Parveen Rana in the Rio Olympics, filed a written complaint in a police station near Panipat on Wednesday. However, the wrestler, like several such cases in the past, alleged that there was a conspiracy to prevent him from going to Rio.

Freestyle wrestler Rana had earlier won a gold medal in the 74kg category at the Dave Schultz Memorial wrestling tournament in US in 2014.
Both the athletes in question – Inderjeet and Narsingh – have been provisionally suspended. Narsingh’s father Pancham Yadav and mother Bhoolna Devi said their son, a free style wrestler in 74 kg category, was innocent and did not even consume tea, forget taking steroids to boost up his energy levels.

The 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, who earned the Rio quota by winning a bronze medal in the World Championship previous year and was then selected in the squad ahead of two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, tested positive for a banned anabolic steroid last week and was provisionally suspended. The world wrestling body said the Indian Olympic Association expressed their desire to enter Parveen as their replacement.
