Manning partially tore his plantar fascia – the connective tissue that supports the arch of your foot – and has suffered from plantar fasciitis for weeks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. In that game, Manning set the National Football League record for career passing yards, passing Brett Favre for the top spot.
Manning was 5 of 20 for 35 yards and four interceptions and was sacked twice for Denver, which posted just 49 total yards through the middle of the third quarter.
Manning is suffering from foot, rib and ankle injuries.
Osweiler said he didnt expect many changes in the play calls, saying, we have one offense here.. It was the low point of a season filled with struggles for Manning, who at 39 has seen a rapid decline over the past two years as his injuries begin to mount. “I want to try and get healthy and see where everything stands next week”.
Osweiler originally committed to play basketball at Gonzaga, but once his football highlight reel made the rounds, he became a hot commodity, and he ultimately switched to Arizona State.
So, Manning told Osweiler he’d be there for any questions he might have, “but I’m not going to be one of those extra voices in his ear”. It’s possible the Broncos will double down on the running game against Chicago’s 25th-ranked run defense.
“I just think it’s the grind of the season”, Kubiak added. When Manning was waiting to announce his official decision last summer on whether he would return, sources close to the team indicated that they were ready to give the reins to Osweiler if Manning did choose to retire. I’ve gotta do what’s best for the player, for the team.
“If it had been a coaster all the way, who knows if we could handle adversity down the road”, he said, “Now that you’ve done it on the road, it proves that you can”.
Denver has had Kansas City’s number the past few years, especially once Peyton Manning arrived to the Mile High City.
Archie Manning had a rough Sunday. Osweiler was certainly more effective, completing 14 of 24 passes for 146 yards with one touchdown and one interception, though it wasn’t almost enough to make the game competitive (the Broncos trailed 22-0 heading into the fourth quarter).
Winning the game was one thing, but it was the way the Cardinals did it, Arians said Monday, that will help the team in its challenges ahead.

After the game Sunday, Kubiak said he should have held Manning out against Kansas City but reiterated that Manning was his quarterback and would start next week if healthy.
