Hawaii jobless rate hit 7-year-low of 3.7% in July
The rate is down from 5.7 percent a year ago, and 32,000 Mainers are counted as unemployed.

“Once again we see a substantial increase in nonfarm employment compared to a year ago”, said Commissioner of Labor John H. Albin. U.S. Labor Department figures say Nebraska is trailed by North Dakota at 3 percent and Utah and Vermont at 3.6 percent.
The broadest measure of those who are unemployed averaged 12.8 percent in Mississippi for the year ending in June, the most recent figures released. The unemployment rate held at a seven-year low of 5.3 percent. Many people, such as stay-at-home parents, students, retirees, the disabled, and the occasional trust-fund kid, simply choose not to work, and their lack of gainful employment isn’t really a reflection of the labor market’s health.
From July 2014 to July 2015, state officials say that South Carolina’s employment level has increased by more than 59,000.
Regional and state unemployment rates were little changed in July. The Pacific had the highest rate, 6.0 percent.
Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Jesse Panuccio said, “In July, Florida saw another strong month of job creation”.
“With the second-highest number of jobs of all areas in the state last month, the Tampa economy continues to thrive”, Scott said in the announcement.

Jobs were added in the construction and in the professional and business services categories. The over-the-year percentage decreases occurred in West Virginia (-2.5 percent) and North Dakota (-0.6 percent). Closed sales of existing single-family homes statewide totaled 26,916 last month, up 21.8 percent over July 2014.
