It was a pass from Marcus Mariota to wide receiver Andre Johnson between two defenders.

Tennessee right guard Chance Warmack has a torn tendon in a finger on his right hand, and coach Mike Mularkey says the Titans are discussing whether the lineman needs surgery or can play with the injury. The only thing that matters is that there’s now a “1” in the wins column.

Fans of both teams got very frustrated with penalty flags today, as there were several twitter counters paying close attention to how close this game was getting to the National Football League record set back in 1951. The Titans defeated the Lions 16-15. Penalties on two consecutive plays brought back Detroit touchdowns, however, and the Lions ended up settling for a 42-yard Matt Prater field goal to take a 12-3 into halftime.

A key one, was an Eric Ebron pass interference call in the end zone that did not seem to be worthy of a flag according to the CBS announcing crew, moving the ball back from the Titans one yard line all the way back to the 31 after a penalty on the following play. DeMarco Murray was just shy of another 100 yard game with Tennessee as the team finally snapped a five game losing streak dating back to last December with their first victory of 2016. The Lions and Titans were almost halfway there after two quarters, having combined for 18.

“At the end of game the opportunity came, and I was glad I made the play”. Abdullah had 38 yards on six carries, but left late in the second quarter with a foot injury.

The Titans faced a fourth down, with the game on the line in the closing minutes here on Sunday.

It’s a young quarterback, rebounding from an interception to fire a 30-yard touchdown pass on the next possession.

Marvin Jones had eight catches for 118 yards for the Lions, his first 100-yard receiving day since 2013 and the third of career. The 35-year-old receiver has four receptions on the season, and he likes what he’s seeing from Mariota, who was dealing with cramping during the second half. They were able to make a play at the end to give them the edge. He also had a team high seven catches for 56 yards.

As I sat, nearly emotionless, following the latest Lions debacle, I thought to myself. And when Jim Caldwell was retained for a third season as the Lions’ head coach last winter, they cheered.

Although Devin Taylor stepped up with a big game, the Lions really missed Ansah – who left with an ankle injury on the first series of the game. Stafford scrambled out of the pocket and headed downfield where Titans cornerback Parrish Cox was waiting for him.
