TORONTO, July 22 Andre De Grasse introduced himself as Canada’s next great sprinting hope on Wednesday, powering his way to Pan American Games 100 metres gold.

“To be medalling in the Pan Am Games is just beyond my expectations”, Chuboda said.
Previously, the women’s team’s best finish was silver at the 1999 Games in Winnipeg.

De Grasse holds the Canadian record in the 200 metres of 20.03, set in May, and will take aim at the 100 metre record of 9.84 shared by Donovan Bailey and Bruny Surin.

“I was out watching my dad jump all the time”, Shawnacy said of his childhood.
