“The attitude is good and I like this”.

Antonio Conte says Chelsea are intent on improving their squad before the transfer deadline following the 3-0 win over Burnley. First half was probably as poor as we’ve been in a year, I think, but against a very strong group.

While Chelsea have made a flawless start to the season with three wins in three, the club have not seen such success in the market, and have struggled to sign players in recent weeks.

The Belgian endured a season to forget last term, going nearly a year without a league goal as the Blues finished 10th in a miserable defence of their Premier League crown. After 13 games where we have conceded at home, we didn’t this time and that is very important.

“I repeat: this transfer market is very insane, very hard to reach the targets for us”.

He said: “I believe with this market it’s very hard. He is an important young player with great improvements that he can make in the future”. “We have three good goalkeepers now; first (Thibaut) Courtois, second Begovic, third Eduardo”.

“There’s a huge gulf between where we are as a club and this club, but when the whistle blows you want to be ready to perform, and we weren’t”.

With that in mind, Conte was quick to warn his players of the dangers posed by Burnley, who enjoyed a shock win over Liverpool last weekend.

The performances of Ola Aina and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the midweek 3-2 League Cup win over Bristol Rovers provided a reminder of the youngsters pressing for a chance in the senior set-up.

Chelsea’s profligacy was one of the very few lowlights of the game as the host outclassed the visitors by a rather wide margin.

“Burnley are a very solid team in defence and always waiting to counter-attack with two very good forwards”.

“Every game you must face with great attention and you must understand that if you don’t have the right attention, anything can happen”.
