HBO Boxing PPV Weigh-in Results: ‘Canelo,’ Khan on Point
How can you watch Amir Khan vs Saul Alvarez?

THE ARENA: This is the first fight in the new T-Mobile Arena, which opened last month on the Las Vegas Strip.
At today’s weigh-in, which took place in the chilly and wet Las Vegas air, Khan was buzzing with confidence, and lapping up every moment of the biggest fight of his life.
Seeing how Khan stacks up against Canelo Alvarez when they face off will be telling.
Opportunity on the biggest stage finally beckons for Khan, 29, who now bases himself in the Bay Area, where trainer Virgil Hunter is situated.
“I’m a natural, very 147-pound fighter”, Khan said. I tried to bring Canelo down a little bit but Canelo’s team said he couldn’t come down anymore. “It’s all about having belief in yourself”.
De La Hoya insisted that the idea of a Khan upset was not outside the realm of possibility – citing the example of Leicester City’s remarkable title triumph in the English Premier League.
Hopkins maintained Alvarez, 25, has adapted and improved from the lessons exploited against him in Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s 2013 victory and his July 2014 split-decision win over Erislandy Lara. The fight will be held at a catch weight of 155 pounds, 8 1/2 more pounds than Khan weighed in his last bout.
“You get used to it with experience”, Alvarez said.
NO TRUMP: Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, a big fight fan, turned down an invitation from promoter Oscar De La Hoya to sit ringside.
“There was no way I was going to swerve Barroso though”. He does have a speed advantage, but will need to use it well to keep Alvarez from wearing him down. Khan has always been known for his lightning fast hands and footwork to match. “But at times it’s going to be standing there trading with him”.
Khan explained this week that his knockout losses to Garcia and Breidis Prescott – and the flash knockdowns he has suffered – were a result of “lost focus, because …” It looked like Khan would get the stunning opening round stoppage with a vicious body shot knockdown, but Maidana gamely got up and saw out the round. “I have to do the same kind of thing”.
If he does beat Alvarez to win the middleweight title, he said he would honor the division limit of 160 pounds, unlike Alvarez.

De La Hoya also warned that Alvarez would be wise not to look past Khan to the fight with Gennady Golovkin that many hope will be the rising Mexican star’s next bout. He’s won his previous four fights, most recently defeating Miguel Cotto by unanimous decision. “That’s what boxing is all about”.
