HBO Now, HBO’s $15 per month streaming service, has just added support for Google’s Chromecast hardware.

HBO Now started life earlier this year as an exclusive on Apple products – Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch – but it has since appeared on Amazon Fire and Android devices. An HBO representative said the company is looking to expand the service on various platforms as soon as possible.
Now you can stream HBO programs and movies to a Chromecast without paying for a cable or satellite subscription. A new update is being rolled out for HBO Now on iOS and Android. According to The Verge, the Home Box Office Inc. was quick to support Apple’s Airplay when Now launched in April, but adding Google’s streaming stick took a few months longer. HBO had signaled that Google’s streaming device support was not far off.
Cord cutters will also be able to watch The Food Network, the Travel Channel and Pokemon TV using a mobile device and a Chromecast plugged into an HDTV, as all three of those channels are now supported. So watch yourself some HBO shows and enjoy. True, limitations remain. HBO Now still isn’t available outside the United States, nor is it available on Roku, another popular streaming device.
