HBO Now launches for Amazon Fire TV and TV Stick

For a $15 monthly subscription fee owners of the Amazon TV hardware can now enjoy watching all HBO series that include: Game of Thrones, Ballers, True Detective and more. The app is available now, and it supports Amazon’s Fire tablets as well.

The standalone HBO Now service, which last month arrived on Amazon’s Fire tablets (Apple had a brief exclusivity window before the service landed on competing platforms), is available for both the Fire TV and Fire TV Stick.

HBO NOW is HBO’s internet only streaming service, providing audiences with instant access to all of HBO-addictive series, unforgettable movies, thought-provoking documentaries, thrilling sports programs and entertaining comedy and music specials for just $14.99 a month. If you’re not already an HBO Now subscriber, a 30-day free trial is available after downloading the app.

Once you sign up, you’ll be able to watch across all platforms, including a web portal.

One major media streaming name that has yet to get HBO Now is Roku. Still, HBO recently told TechCrunch that its ultimate goal is parity with HBO Go, a separate service that’s free for people who get HBO through a traditional pay-TV provider. While HBO’s website specifically said Fire TV would soon get the app, Roku was conspicuously missing mention.
