HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Wins The Emmy Award For Best Drama Series
If host Jimmy Kimmel’s Emmys opener is to be believed, Bush is chauffering Veep’s President Selina Meyer around Los Angeles these days. Though at times he may have made things a little awkward (Bill Cosby humor, anyone?), everything was in good fun.

By taking the top award of the night for outstanding drama, Game of Thrones officially became the most decorated scripted show in Emmy history with 38 awards total over its six seasons, stealing the title from the sitcom Frasier. “Were you nominated?”, he asked Kimmel.
“I’m sure Donald was thrilled with him, I’m sure he’s emailing Jimmy right now saying thanks for the free media”, Burnett told reporters backstage.
Mom, Dad, I know I just thanked you, but you need to be escorted out right now, I’m so sorry. Kimmel seemed heartened until Jeb said, “Jimmy that was a joke”, then threw him out of the limo.
“There’s an after party?” said Kimmel, looking crestfallen.
If Trump gets elected, and builds a wall, Kimmel said, “the first person we’re throwing over it is Mark Burnett”.
When asked if he could win, Kimmel replied, “probably not”.
NBC’s The Voice won the Emmy for best reality-competition program on Sunday night.
Later, after Mark Burnett accepted the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Competition, Kimmel joked, “That Emmy is going on the hood of Trump’s limousine, isn’t it?” The only downside? Seeing FX’s also superb “Fargo” get shut out – and seeing PBS’s shamefully weak “Sherlock: The Abominable Bride” win a shamefully weak movie category.
“Our show started out as political satire”, she said, “but now it feels like a sober documentary”.
Channeling her character from the critically acclaimed HBO series Veep!, Louis-Dreyfus tells Kimmel: ‘We are so pleased that you’re hosting tonight’s Academy Awards’. While she did toss in some jokes about the presidential race this year, she took a moment to mention her father, who died on Friday.

No local love: Portland hometown pride took a beating, though, as “Portlandia” lost to “Key & Peele” in the variety sketch TV series category, and Ty Burrell of “Modern Family” didn’t snag another supporting actor in a comedy statue.
