HBO’s ‘Westworld’ Trailer Begins the Robot Uprising Anew

The Westworld trailer arrived with the True Detective season 2 finale, and you probably want to watch it and not be reading this, right? And this fall, HBO and Jonathan Nolan reboot Crichton’s 1973 film “Westworld“, bringing the sci-fi tale to the small screen and the first trailer has landed. Yul Brenner and James Brolin starred in the original, HBO’s version has a cast that includes Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins, James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, and Thandie Newton.

The drama hails from J.J. Mr. Abrams is working on some little indie movie somewhere, but he also shares executive producer credit with Jerry Weintraub, Bryan Burk, Kathy Lingg, and Athena Wickham. Susie Ekins is set as a co-producer.

The first trailer for HBO’s eagerly-awaited drama series – Westworld will release this Sunday, 9 August.

The series is produced by Bad Robot Productions, Jerry Weintraub Productions and Kilter Films in association with Warner Bros. And unlike the actors on such anthology series as FX’s American Horror Story and HBO’s own True Detective, which reboot themselves every season, the cast of Westworld is signing multiyear deals.

The teaser carries no actual date, but confirms the 2016 launch for the show, which HBO is surely hoping can generate the same level of interest as Game Of Thrones. Needless to say I am EXCITED for this one.
