At least that’s what 11-year-old Chris Gaither did when he heard someone break into his Talladega home on Wednesday.

When he was coming down the stairs, the burglar began to curse at him. He fired 12 shots at the would-be burglar, but only the last bullet hit the suspect, according to WVTM.

“When I pulled the gun, I guess he didn’t think it was a real gun because he kept on walking”, Gaither said. So, the boy did what he felt was necessary to protect himself.

“I seen the guy and then I warned him four times to get out the house, and then he ran upstairs”, Gaither told WVTM.

“I told him I was going to kill him if he didn’t get out of my house”, the boy, Chris Gaither, said.

Meanwhile, Chris, who was fearing for his safety, retrieved a 9mm handgun and soon thereafter came face to face with the intruder who was carrying a clothes hamper which was presumably full of loot. It was a full metal jacket bullet.

“It went straight through the back of him, in his leg”. As he’s interviewed by the reporter, Chris mocks the robber and describes how he cried like a baby after being shot.

Is this the best local news clip that ever happened? His name has not yet been released. However, he is recovering in the Brookwood Health Center-Baptist Citizen’s Medical Center.
