Headley visited India seven times before 2008

Headley said that he came to India seven times before the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks; he also stated that his main contact in LeT was Sajid Mir, another accused in the case.

The deposition of David Coleman Headley began before a special Mumbai court on Monday, where he is revealing the sequence of events and planning behind the infamous 26/11 terror attacks.

Headley’s deposition is being recorded via video conferencing and it will continue for next few days as well.

December 10, 2016: Headley was pardoned and made an approver by Additional Sessions Judge G.A. Sanap who presides over special cases related to terrorism, including those under the now repealed TADA. According to the report, Headley told interrogators that 26/11 attacks were launched with Lashkar-e-Toiba Hafiz Saeed’s approval and the attacks were executed with the help of ISI. “He completed his education from Hasan Abdal Cadet College in Pakistan but left for America at the age of 17”, he said. “The government possibly wants to tell a gullible people that it is doing its best to get justice for the victims of the Mumbai attacks”.

-He is known to be secretive, meticulous with an eye for detail and has good understanding of computers and was called as a “competent handler” by Headley.

“In the month of September 2008 and in October 2008 those attempts by the LeT were unsuccessful on account of accident to the attackers”, said Indian public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, citing Headley’s testimony via video link. Headley, an American national, was deposing as a witness before a Mumbai court via video conference from the US.

After receiving his new passport, Headley visited India eight times, out of eight times he visited Mumbai seven times. Headley added that he made a new passport just to enter in India.

Right at the start, Headley revealed that he was born on June 30, 1960 in the U.S. and shifted to Pakistan later where his name was Daood Sayeed Gilani.

The court had told Headley that he “disclose full and true facts leading to the happening of the attacks within his knowledge and the persons concerned, disclose his role and the role of others, disclose facts which he has admitted before the US court in IL and truthfully and correctly answer the prosecution’s questions unfolding the entire criminal conspiracy and other offences”.

Major General (Retd.) Sinho said Headley is someone, who was cultivated by the ISI many times.

Headley, 55, was giving evidence to a special Indian court from an undisclosed location in America.

He added that Headley said he had received training from LeT founder Hafiz Saeed and Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, the alleged mastermind of the Mumbai attacks.
