Health advocates support clean power plan
The EPA’s Clean Power Plan has been presented as a model rule for all states to adopt; however, it will be enforced in states that fail to submit an adequate plan.

President Obama and EPA officials unveiled the final version of the plan on Monday.
Governor Snyder’s administration said it was studying the proposal, however, Attorney General Bill Schuette, a likely GOP candidate for governor in 2018, said he was considering filing suit against the federal government.
“In 2014, the clean-energy market in the U.S. expanded by 14 percent, to nearly $200 billion”.
With the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan announced to push our nation’s reliance away from coal, some are looking to re-emphasize different sources of energy. Vega’s Bio-Coal product is a clean renewable energy source that can be burned in existing coal-fired power plants and reduce the amount of carbon emission now created by traditional coal. According to the agency, the plan’s objective is to strengthen “cleaner and lower-polluting American energy”.
Among its benefits, the administration said the plan will provide a significant boost to public health, reducing premature deaths from power plant emissions by nearly 90 percent in 2030 compared to 2005, and decrease the pollutants that contribute to the soot and smog and can lead to more asthma attacks in kids by more than 70 percent.
Obama is enacting the plan by executive order, bypassing, which rejected legislative attempts to reduce pollution from carbon dioxide, a common greenhouse gas blamed by scientists for heating the earth.
Worldwide leaders are keeping an eye on what Congress will do, which observers say is being factored into discussions on emissions obligations.
Now that goals have been set, the EPA is expected to give states a wide array of flexibility to meet their targets, including a vast array of different techniques.
“In West Virginia, we know that the cost of electricity will go up”.

However, there are still a number of climate change doubters – many of them in the rival Republican party, and some of them running to be the next President. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Michigan in June, saying the EPA should have taken costs into account when determining what is “appropriate and necessary” for regulating air emissions from electric utilities. However, while renewable energy options are pointed out, the coal industry, which has stated it will fight against the new rules, is the one that will be impacted the most.
