Health care bill meets GOP skeptics in Senate

Breitbart News asked Sanders during a Thursday press gaggle if the President will be as involved getting the health care bill passed in the Senate as he’s been in getting it passed in the House.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Rand Paul simply votes no regardless of what’s in the bill, unless it says, “Government must never play any role in health care ever again”. It was a perilous journey, and its Senate pathway will be at least as bumpy with little doubt the measure will change, assuming it survives. The Congressional Budget Office hasn’t yet had a chance to analyze the amended bill to determine its potential wide-ranging impact. “It’s the sort of things that cowards do, and the Republicans in Congress and in the statehouses are cowards”. “We thought we had them a couple months ago, healthcare came up in the House, didn’t pass, oh, these f**k ups”.

And at that point, it’s going to be very hard to get a conference report that can pass both the House and the Senate.

Arkansas Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson praised the House vote but said questions remain about covering his state’s residents, saying the bill needs to be “rectified” when it gets to the Senate.

The House bill would end the current law’s fines on people who don’t purchase policies and erase its taxes on health industry businesses and higher-earning people.

Alexander said the bill would give states more flexibility on Medicaid and ensure that people with pre-existing conditions have access to insurance.

By definition, pre-existing conditions mean that a person has a medical condition that began prior to their health insurance going into effect. Targeting more assistance to low-income Americans on the cusp of Medicaid eligibility will also help more of them acquire private coverage and push them away from Medicaid, which is an outcome most conservatives favor. And every member of the House who voted for it must be held accountable.

TRUMP, on pre-existing conditions: “We cover it beautifully”.

“I was given the impression it would be a blank sheet of paper”, he said, while adding of the House-passed legislation: “I’m not sure this is the last bill”.

Republicans are celebrating the passage of a new healthcare bill through the House, but their fight to repeal and replace Obamacare is far from over.

What happens in the House of Representatives doesn’t stay in the House of Representatives. The CBO report in March on an earlier iteration of the bill predicted that 24 million fewer people would be covered. But many states don’t have the money to make up any shortfalls, so in such cases they would likely either curtail benefits, reduce eligibility or cut provider payments.

“Individuals are going to see their premiums go down or stabilize”.

The final legislation boosts US military spending and provides increased funding for USA border security, but it sidesteps numerous promises Trump and Republican lawmakers made. Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia.

The bill also restructures Medicaid payments to the states, reducing federal spending. Some senators may be hoping for an easy out by only making superficial changes.

And Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said over Twitter: “A bill – finalized yesterday, has not been scored, amendments not allowed, and 3 hours final debate – should be viewed with caution”.
