This morning the news broke that Taylor Swift had actually written the words for Calvin Harris’ smash hit, “This Is What You Came For”, featuring the omnipresent Rihanna.
Harris also hit a potential sore spot by referring to Swift’s famed bad blood with fellow United States pop superstar Katy Perry.
Earlier today (13.07.16), Taylor’s representative confirmed she had penned his new tune, telling MailOnline: “Taylor Swift wrote “This Is What You Came For” under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg”.
Taylor has yet to respond on her own social media, but we’re betting the star could be saving up all of her best insults for another chart-topping hit song.
After the 26-year-old singer revealed that she co-wrote the song with her ex, Calvin confirmed that she also sings “a little bit of it too”.
Harris took to Twitter to confirm that Swift did, indeed, help craft the song.
And it looks like Katy and Calvin’s fans really aren’t happy with Taylor. But it was all under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg. They both went into a studio and did a full demo with Taylor on vocals and Calvin doing the beat.
Things apparently fell apart after Harris appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show the day the song was released and dismissed the idea that he and Swift would ever collaborate. When asked about a collaboration back in April, the EDM hit maker said, “You know we haven’t even spoken about it.
Unbelievable lyric writer and she smashed it as usual”, the 32-year-old DJ and music producer tweeted before going on a rant about Taylor. “I can’t see it happening though”, he said, in reply to the question.
As Digital Spy reports, a major breaking point in their relationship happened in 2012 when three of Katy Perry’s former backup dancers abandoned Taylor Swift’s Red tour to join Perry on her Prism tour.
