Hearing set for foreign nationals arrested during turnpike traffic stop in

The arrests happened Friday, November 13, in Braceville Twp. near Lordstown in Trumbull County. The men from the Columbus area were expected in court today. Their charges range from drug possession and identity fraud to possessing criminal tools and forgery. Troopers found a machine that creates and duplicates credit cards in the vehicle.

Said faces an additional misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana and Hassan was issued a traffic ticket that says he drove 91 miles per hour in a 70 zone.

After the hearing, however, Atty. Kelly Newbrough stating that his client, Said Abu, “is a citizen of the United States”.

Atty. Devon Stanley, who represented Mohameddeg Hassan, mentioned the Paris attacks and asked the trooper who made the traffic stop, Brandon Miller, whether concerns about terrorism had anything to do with the traffic stop.

There was a similar case in Trumbull county this past summer when three men were arrested and convicted of using numerous fraudulent credit cards at the Wall-Mart in Bazetta.
