Hearn confirms Eubank Jr-O’Sullivan on for December 12th, will be final

Eubank (20-1, 15 KO) stopped Tony Jeter (20-5-1, 14 KO) in round two of a pointless exhibition that served no goal other than to get Eubank back in the ring, overwhelming the Maryland native and landing punches at will in the first round before dropping Jeter with a hook.

Eubank Jr was matched against Jeter as a showcase for him on the undercard, as he is already booked to fight again in December and is obviously vying to fight for the real WBA belt and erase the “interim” label.

Chris Eubank Jr needed just three minutes and 29 seconds to blow away overmatched opponent Tony Jeter at the Sheffield Arena.

“Personally, I think he’s kind of talked his way into the fight and doesn’t really want to be there”. But the excitement in that fight gives me a good indication of how low the bar is for Eubank Jr.

“These [Miguel Cotto and Saul Canelo Alvarez] are all future fights definitely”, Eubank Jr. said to Fighthype. “I’m definitely interested in sharing the ring with these types of fighters within the next year or two”.

“I’m ready for Spike O’Sullivan”.

“I learnt a lot from losing to Saunders and against Chudinov, you saw me put into practice what I have learnt from that, and from now we can only hope to get the rematch on in the next year – I want it and so do the public”.

Eubank Jr. needs to stay busy and have that consistency in order to continue his development, as aside from Saunders, his level of opposition has been criticized. “We will go through these guys, and in the next fight, [junior] will show more of what he can do”.

Eubank Jr. should just keep his pie-hole shut about him wanting to fight Golovkin, Quillin, Jacobs, Cotto and Canelo. He should be focusing on O’Sullivan because if he can’t win that fight then he’ll be out of luck.
