Heat 97, Knicks 78

The Miami Heat (10-5) defeated the New York Knicks (8-9) by a score of 97-78 for their eighth straight victory in the series on Friday night at Madison Square Garden. With the Knicks’ big men out and Anthony 0-for-8 over the final three quarters, the Heat pushed the ball and attacked the basket, applying constant pressure against the Knicks’ defense. Four of those blocks came in the second half, when Miami took control of the game. In fact, Miami looked a bit lackadaisical in the beginning. I know there are guys that will step up but I want to be there when my team needs me. Some of this is a result of Spoelstra’s rotations – Bosh’s 7.6 minutes are also fifth among starters in the first quarter. Moments later, he made a putback shot while getting fouled and knocked down the free throw.

Wade said he needed to see the replay, with his eyes only on the rim. Anthony dropped in all 11 of his first-half points on 4-for-5 shooting to key the solid start before the Heat stifled him for the remainder of the game. Chris Bosh stepped up to the challenge.

Cavaliers 117, Magic 103: LeBron James joined Oscar Robertson on an exclusive National Basketball Association list and Kevin Love scored a season-high 35 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers remained unbeaten at home. Friday night, the bench scored 25 points in the first half alone! But Wade and Bosh apparently didn’t overdo on the turkey as they carried the Heat to a 50-49 halftime lead.

After turning in his best performance of the season, Green is expected to continue filling in for the injured Deng as the Heat host the Boston Celtics on Monday night.

This game will be broadcast on television in local markets, but live streaming will be available everywhere else thanks to NBA League Pass. Login to League Pass using a paid subscription and everything should be up and running.

Although Green already placed his imprint on the game in the third, he didn’t allow it to make him in complacent heading into the fourth. He converted on two three-point shots and an alley-oop dunk during the stretch.

Wing players will not drive the lane against the Heat without checking for Hassan Whiteside first.

It’s not likely to get any better in another meeting with a Miami Heat team that boasts one of the NBA’s best defenses.

The 20-year old Latvian forward is averaging 13.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per game to lead the Knicks to a fast start and talk of a playoff spot. He came into Friday’s game averaging 22.8 points per game compared to 13.4 for Porzingis.

On the Heat defense, Anthony said, “I don’t think they made any adjustments”. His defensive in addition to others is what really held the Knicks to just 29 points in the second half and 78 on the game. He spent almost five seasons with the Knicks and has appeared in just two games since signing with Miami in the offseason.
